“Although located in Denmark, the North Atlantic culture house in Odense is a symbol of Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. Situated at what is known as The Island of the City at the harbour front in Odense, its monolithic appearance and dark façade evokes the rough landscape it refers to, while at the same time relating to its urban placement.”

Special design of profile system for this project,based on Reynaers CW86 profiles system, that complied with all of Iceland’s harsh climate conditions, the quality requirements. The project montage was made in record time: four months.

“The strict composition of the cube in black is conceptually supplemented with a rhythm of oblique windows that brings drive and dynamism, which is also an inseparable part of the activity of the prosecutor’s office, to the static character of the building. The overall heavy, stable form has been provided with the elements of dynamics. In this way, a visual motion appears. It is a change and a fourth dimension, giving atypical qualities to the static form, activating it, and turning it into a hypersurface. Here hyper?- is not in binary relation to the surface. It is a new notion that describes a complex condition of architectural surfaces.” ~

“Minimum means were used to achieve maximum suggestibility and expressiveness. “Less is more”. There is a blend of strictness, simplicity, and restraint about this work. Elements of psychological impact were also applied. A massive black cube “hanging” on a transparent basement visually glides and daunt visitors… The main entrance is set down a little and proportionally formed in such a way as to subconsciously imply that one needs to bend, thus making visitors experience a feeling of fear and respect.
The building contains 13 floors: nine floors are above ground, three-under ground, and one ground floor. The total area is ~ 17,500 m2.” ~

“Siemens Arena was built in just 12 months and opened its door to visitors on 30 October 2004. The Arena was designed by “Jungtinės Architektų Dirbtuvės“ and an international company of architects “Stadium Consultants International“ who are recognized experts in arenas around the world. The founders of Siemens Arena are a group of companies “Rubicon group”. Since the end of 2007 Siemens Arena belongs to the biggest entertainment business company group in the country SEVEN Entertainment which unites Lithuanian companies leading in different areas of entertainment specializing in arena management, event organization, sale of tickets and gift vouchers.” ~

“These two unusually shaped, 70 metre-high towers have attracted a lot of attention since the project was first mooted. Their most distinctive feature is their resemblance, in section, to the letters K and D, allegedly standing for ‘Klaipeda’ and ‘Dane’. The two geometrical prisms-objects-letters are like pieces of the same puzzle, which would form a square block if put together. The gap between the two shapes can thus be perceived as an active zone – stimulating and eventful. Driven by economical growth and the quest for skyline identity, daring architectural endeavours like this one are introducing a sense of flair to Klaipeda’s lifestyle and silhouette.”
